Simony Pech
Founder
I began my journey in tourism in 2014 as a guide trainee. Over the years, I have worked as a tour guide, outdoor educator, and trip leader for educational travel programs across Cambodia.
Through these experiences, I discovered that travel can be much more than sightseeing. For me, tourism is a way to create understanding, reflection, and meaningful connections between people and the places they visit.
In 2024, I founded Skual Tours with the vision of creating experiences that allow travelers to slow down and truly engage with Cambodia. My goal is to help guests explore local life through stories, food, culture, and conversations with the people who live here.
During our tours, I enjoy sharing the history and traditions of Battambang while also creating space for curiosity and dialogue. I believe the most memorable travel experiences come from simple moments, walking through a market, tasting local food, visiting a village, or hearing the stories behind everyday life.
Through Skual Tours, I hope to help travelers see Cambodia with deeper understanding while supporting the communities that make these experiences possible
Sophara Kheav
Operation Manager
My name is Sophara Kheav. I was born and raised in Battambang, a city known for its rich history, beautiful colonial architecture, and vibrant local culture.
In 2019, I began working as a local guide in Battambang, helping travelers learn more about Cambodia and the stories of this region. At the same time, I continued my university studies and successfully graduated in 2024. Through guiding and meeting people from different parts of the world, I discovered a strong interest in tourism and cultural exchange.
What inspires me most about tourism is the opportunity to share the authentic side of Battambang with visitors. I believe travel is not only about visiting famous places, but also about understanding local culture, meeting people, and hearing the stories behind a community.
Over the years, I have spent time learning more about local history and building relationships with families, artisans, and small businesses in the area. These experiences have helped me better understand the everyday life and traditions that shape this city.
I became involved with Skual Tours because I was inspired by its vision of creating meaningful travel experiences. Through our work, I hope to help visitors discover the real Battambang while supporting local communities and sharing the stories that make this place unique.
Yoeurn Sopheara
Tour Guide
My name is Yoeun Sopheara. I was born and raised in Battambang, a region defined by its deep history and a rich, diverse tourism landscape.
To pursue my dreams, I moved on to university while taking on a part-time job. I was a guesthouse receptionist became a turning point in my life. Every day, I met travelers from across the globe, each with different cultures and ways of life. As my fascination with tourism grew, I began spending my free time shadowing experienced local guides. During those trips, I noticed something significant: there were very few young women working in the tourism sector in Battambang. This sparked a deep ambition within me. I decided then that I would be a woman born and raised in Battambang who proudly shares the wonders of her hometown with the world.
My passion for tourism isn't just about sightseeing; it comes from a desire to share the authentic daily life of Battambang. I believe that traveling is about more than just checking off famous landmarks. It is about cultural immersion, connecting with people, and listening to the real stories behind every community. We all live differently, and I believe those connections are vital.
Over the last few years, my experience working with visitors led me to join Skual Tours. This project is dedicated to responsible tourism and creating meaningful, high-value travel experiences. My goal is to help visitors discover that Battambang is much more than just a place with delicious food; it is a a city with a soul and a story to tell. I hope every guest leaves with a profound understanding of Khmer culture and a true glimpse into the daily lives of the people here.
