Our Story

The journey of Skual Tours began with a question of what if travel could mean more

Skual Tours was born from a simple belief: meaningful travel is not measured by how many places you visit, but by how deeply you connect with them.

Our founder, Simony Pech, began his journey in 2014 as a guide trainee. Over the years, he has walked alongside travelers, local communities, and fellow guides in roles ranging from outdoor education to expert storytelling. Through these experiences, one question kept returning: What makes a journey truly meaningful?

The answer was never found in landscapes, temples, or itineraries alone. While Cambodia is rich in history and natural beauty, these elements do not define the experience. What leaves a lasting impression is human connection—the warmth of a greeting, the rhythm of daily life, shared meals, quiet conversations, and stories shaped by resilience.

Today, travel is often approached as a race. We ask: How many places have you been? Where is the best spot for photos? What is the best food to try? But moving too fast—rushing to "see it all" just to say, “I’ve been there”—actually creates a distance between the traveler and the destination.

When we rush, we miss what matters most. We miss the people, the quiet moments of everyday life, and the powerful stories of renewal that give Cambodia its true meaning. At Skual Tours, we invite you to slow down, look deeper, and truly arrive.

Skual Tours was created to respond to this gap. We exist to offer travel experiences that slow the journey down and invite travelers to participate rather than observe. Our tours are designed as shared experiences, where travelers are encouraged to stop, listen, reflect, and engage with Cambodia beyond the surface. We believe travel should be a two-way exchange: one that enriches the visitor while honoring the dignity, knowledge, and lived experience of local communities.

Cambodia is often described as a beautiful country, known for its landscapes, beaches, natural waterfalls, and cultural sights. While these are part of the experience, what many travelers remember most is the people and the meaningful connections formed while being in Cambodia.

At Skual Tours, we believe Cambodia’s true beauty lies in human connection. It is found in daily life, quiet conversations, shared meals, spiritual traditions, and the stories people carry. These are not performances or attractions, but genuine moments that emerge when travelers give time, respect, and presence. We work closely with local guides, artists, families, and community partners as collaborators, not products. Our responsibility is to create safe, respectful spaces where genuine encounters can happen naturally, without rushing, staging, or simplifying complex stories.

Skual Tours invites travelers who are curious, open-minded, and willing to travel with intention. Those who wish not only to see Cambodia, but to understand it. Those who believe that meaningful travel requires participation, awareness, and care. By joining a Skual Tours experience, you are not just booking a tour. You are choosing to be part of a different way of traveling, one that values connection over consumption, understanding over speed, and shared humanity over highlights. This is our commitment. This is the journey we are building and this is an invitation to experience Cambodia together, with purpose and presence.
